Obituary for Anibal Avillan
Anibal Avillan, age 78, of the Bronx, New York, entered eternal rest on August 14, 2022, surrounded in love by his beloved daughter, Teresa, and his loving companion of many years, Sandra.
Anibal was a beloved father, father figure, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many who will miss him immensely. Anibal was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico and lived and worked in New York serving the city as a United States Marine, Policeman, and Postal Services for many years prior to his passing. He loved his family, his friends, his bird, Polly, salsa music and everything about the “Isla del Encanto”. Anibal was a very patient and playful grandfather and his loved ones could always count on him when needed.
Anibal was also very proud of having served in 3rd Force Reconnaissance, USMC Marine in Vietnam. He will be interred at Quantico National Cemetery in Virginia at a later date following funeral services to be held Sunday, August 21, 2022, between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Thomas C. Montera, Inc. Funeral Home, located at 1848 Westchester Avenue, Bronx, New York 10472.
