Obituary for Carmen Quintana

My mother was a 97 yr. old devout born-again Christian. She was a member of the First Spanish United Methodist church for 31 years. She was unable to attend church for several years because of her advancing condition with Alzheimer’s Disease. She came from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico to New York at the age of 18 to help take care of her nieces and nephews. For many years, she worked in the garment district as a sewing machine operator. She was a woman who loved God, who loved to pray and loved her neighbors as herself. She was always willing to lend a helping hand when someone was in need. She loved to cook and share her delicious food with family and friends. She loved flowers but most of all she loved her family…children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her 3 children: Jeannette, Ozzie and Cindy; her grandchildren: Audrey, Louie and Monica; great grandchildren: Priscilla, Noah, Nicholas, Kya, Jovan, Isabella and Xavier. She will always be remembered as being very cheerful, spirited, confident, always smiling and very well dressed. She will remain forever in our hearts.
