Obituary

Herman Hill was born in Enfield, North Carolina, on April 28, 1950 to Mary Louise Hill Fludd and Joe Nathan Williams. He received his education in North Carolina. When Herman was born he was so small he could fit into a dresser draw and thus was nicknamed by his Mom, “Tulu” (Too Lou). He relocated to NYC and worked as a mechanic at Yank’s Auto Mechanic Shop in The Bronx. He switched career paths and began working at Lincoln Hospital as a Housekeeper and moved up to a supervisor position; proving he was a hard and dedicated worker.

Fatherhood started for Herman in 1975, with his firstborn Troy Walker. In 1979 he and Grisette Ramos joined in matrimony and from this union came Herman Jr. (J.R.), Alexandria Marie and Samantha Lee. Later in his life he met Vernita Williams and helped raise her daughter, Deidra. Together they had a daughter, Gabriella.

Herman’s hobbies were bowling and fishing, ¬¬¬¬ which he enjoyed tremendously with his son J.R. They often took many overnight trips to Boston to go fishing and came back loaded with porgies which he handed out to family and friends. Herman was a hard worker, dedicated spouse, father and a loyal friend. He never denied his time and attention to those who needed him. He was funny, a lover of life and had a charismatic personality that touched everyone he met.

Herman was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Louise Hill Fludd, and his stepfather, Henry Fludd.

Herman is survived by his fiancée Vernita, his 5 children, Troy, J.R., Dria, Sam, Gabby, his 11 grandchildren, Jazzlyn, Christian, Janiah, Alana, Aniyah, Kamaya, K’aliyah, Kayden, Kamari, Kairie and soon to be welcomed, Mia. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a long list of friends.
