Obituary
Josephine Quinones 80, passed away Monday, May 3rd, in Bronx, NY after a few years of failing health.
Josephine was born in Rio Piedras, PR to Nicolasa Merced and Crispulo Quinones. She attended Labra High School in Santurce, PR. She came to live in New York City in her late teens.

Josephine was a self reliant and strong women pressing forward to take care and provide for her family, she was a cheerful , humble and generous person she enjoyed music, reading good books, socializing with friends, spending good quality time with her family, she liked watching the news and keeping up with politics. She loved to travel, meeting new people and making new friends.

Josephine held various jobs throughout her lifetime. Her most rewarding position was caring for people unable to care for themselves. She completed a course and certified as a Home Attendant for the State of New York. She was awarded and recognized for the work she lovingly performed each day of the week.

Josephine is survived by her son, Tito Rivera, who took full responsibility of his mother’s needs and well-being when she could no longer do it on her own, he lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife Elsa Rivera, Josephine’s daughter-in-law, who cared and comforted Josephine during her time of need and suffering.
Her first grandchild, Cyndia Rivera of Miami, FL had a very close and loving relationship with her grandma;
Her daughter Wanda Rivera Saleh, lives in Biddeford, ME;
Her other granddaughter, Nadia Serrano of Bronx, NY and her husband Frank Serrano;
and her great granddaughter, Anastasia Bennett of Biddeford. ME
Her other relatives are her brother, Gilbert and his wife Ana Quinones of NJ,
Her nieces, Joann Quinones and Elba Quinones
Her brother Raymond Quinones, Garden Grove, CA,
Her nephews, David Quinones & wife Marilu, Richard Quinones & wife Brenda
Sency Whelan, her sister, and husband Tony Whelan of Naugatuck, CT
Her nephew Jimmy Whelan of S.C,
Her niece, Ellen Whelan and her husband, Kyle Wells of West Hartford CT,
and nephew Michael Whelan of NJ
She was preceded in death by her daughter Sylvia Rivera,
and granddaughter Alia Saleh Bennett

She will be greatly missed by her Family and Friends
