Obituary for Maria Ramos

Maria Luisa Ramos
1948 – 2021

Our beloved Mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Marie Luisa, 72 of Rio Grande, Puerto Rico passed away peacefully at Center for HOPE in New Jersey.

She was affectionately known as Marie, a devoted Christian, sassy and gorgeous with integrity, a businesswoman ahead of her time. She was loved by her children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Born 3-March 1948 also raised in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, she was the eldest child of Victoria and Juan Ramos.

Marie was an adventurer who migrated to the United States in 1963 with her husband to birth Twin Daughters, Jaqueline & Brigitte, followed by her 1st son Angel. Later she remarried and had another daughter Nancy and son Hector.

Marie was a virtuous woman more precious than rubies and gold. She was a pioneer and a brave woman of crusades. Learning English and earning a High School Diploma followed by the 1st in the family to graduate from College.

Marie’s other accomplishments include solely building two houses one in South America and one in her beloved hometown of Rio Grande by her own accord and means. She was ahead of her time.

She had a zest for life and a great time, and I would call her more of a quintessential New Yorker, a Queen to us all, because she had a knack for making her dreams and passions come to life. When Marie smiled the entire room would light up.

None of the other females could rival her mystic in social circles. Marie had a talent for saying the most obnoxious truth about you by delivery of deadpan humor. She was an elegant refined woman who loved to be dressed even at the late stages of her illness.

We will remember Marie’s love of adventure, books, vivacious humor, love of Christ, fun and her beauty. Anyone that met her would say what an engaging beautiful and lovely woman, you were blessed to know her.

Marie is survived by her loving 5 children Jacqueline, Brigitte, Angel, Nancy, Hector and beloved grandchildren.

Marie our mother will fondly be remembered as a gentle, altruistic loving and caring woman with the best laughter who will assuredly be missed. Your will forever be in our hearts.
