Stephen Odiot was born in New York, New York on October 9, 1950 to the late Carmen Acosta and Pedro Odiot. He attended elementary school in the Bronx and graduated from James Monroe High School. During his high school years, he worked part time at Ripley’s Clothing Store for Men. After graduation, he immediately began to work for Union Carbide where he dedicated 12 years of hard work. Stephen continued his career as a maintenance worker and was soon promoted to concierge. In 2012, he celebrated retirement.
Aside from being devoted to his career, Stephen enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved weekend trips to Atlantic City, cruising the Caribbean, a cappuccino from Starbucks, and last but not least, his Yankees. Stephen was a die-hard Yankee fan, supporting his team through all the wins and losses. No one was a bigger fan than him.
In late 1967, Stephen met the love of his life, Frances A. Moyano, in which they fell deeply for each other. They were married in 1972 and have celebrated 49 years and counting of marriage. While making a life in Parkchester, Stephen surprised Frances with a parakeet named Rocky. Rocky quickly became a part of the family and was raised as their child.
Stephen loved his family dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carmen Acosta and Pedro Odiot. He is survived by his loving wife, Frances A. Odiot, brother Peter E. Odiot Jr., nephew Peter E. Odiot III, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
